Asia Warranty Services (AWS) said that automobile warranties fail to extend to the entire period of most car loans, forcing vehicle owners to dig deeper into their pockets for costly repairs and maintenance on top of their steep monthly amortization obligations.

“This doesn’t have to be the case” said AWS Business Development Manager for Asia-Pacific Sharon Camesa. “A growing number of products have now come under the coverage of extended warranties world wide.”

Like a manufacture’s warranty or motor insurance, AWS explained that an extended warranty similarly covers the costs of repair and maintenance over a specified period of time. On the other hand, extended warranties stretch coverage to an additional two to a maximum of 10 years, covering exactly the same parts and components specified in the manufacturer’s warranty.

An extended warranty, AWS said, also discards yearly premiums as it is paid once and in full at the day of purchase for the coverage of choice. The extended warranty program addresses breakdowns and other internal damages, whether mechanical, electronic or electrical in nature.

In the Philippines, AWS has become the most reputable and experienced third-party administrator in the field. Together with top automobile manufacturers, distributors and dealers, AWS provides comprehensive solutions to address product-related contingencies.
